about Merrinda Border collies
I started showing, training and then breeding Border Collies along with my sister Pat Sheahan under the Joint prefix of Monsalvat Kennels back in 1978. Pat and I had a great time together and we learnt a lot about this beautiful versatile breed.After a long time working together Pat decided that she would no longer be involved in the Borders.That was when I decided it was time to have my own Kennel name as I was still very much hooked :))
That was how Merrinda came about the name Merrinda meaning "Beautiful" I have always strived to improve on my dogs with every litter I breed.I strive for soundness in both conformation and temperament and believe that heredity Disease testing is a very important part of producing healthy dogs.
I do try to place puppies to the most suited homes so this is why I do not like to promise a particular puppy too early in the choosing process.
